Dakota State University and SD Department of Health seek a dynamic and relationship-driven Cyber-Health Community Engagement & Recruitment Specialist to build strong partnerships with healthcare organizations, community-based providers, and key stakeholders across the region. This position plays a critical role in advancing secure technology-enabled healthcare delivery by leading outreach, education, and recruitment efforts focused on cyber-health, cyber awareness, and workforce development. The position will serve as a connector between healthcare providers and available resources-including funding opportunities, recruitment pathways, and community initiatives designed to enhance access to care and strengthen cyber readiness.
NOTE: This position is externally funded and is subject to continual funding.
Candidates with significant directly related experience performing similar duties may be considered for appointment at the Senior Cyber-Health Community Engagement & Recruitment Specialist level based on qualifications and experience.
Key Duties
• Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, clinics, community organizations, and other ancillary healthcare providers. • Strengthen regional healthcare infrastructure with a focus on advancing technology-enabled delivery and workforce innovation. • Conduct in-person visits and engagement sessions across assigned counties to share program information and identify partnership opportunities. • Coordinate community meetings, round-tables, and workshops to connect partners and foster collaboration. • Represent the organization at regional events, conferences, and community forums. • Analyze community and provider needs to identify technology-based solutions (e.g., tele-medicine, digital scheduling systems, health information exchange participation, and recommend strategies aligned with funding priorities. • Educate and guide healthcare partners on available grants and incentive programs. • Provide hands-on support to partners in understanding program requirements, timelines, and compliance expectations. • Serve as a liaison between community partners and funding or program administrators. • Host meetings, workshops, and informational sessions to promote innovative healthcare delivery models and position SD Health Link as a trusted resource in advancing technology-enabled access to care.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a health-related field (e.g., healthcare administration, public health, health informatics, or a related discipline) A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience may be substituted for the required degree
Proactive relationship-builder Knowledge of healthcare systems, workforce development, and community engagement strategies Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of professionalism Ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse healthcare and community partners
