Cimarron is seeking a* Model Based System Engineer (MBSE) Architect *to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either the Redstone Arsenal in the Huntsville, AL area or Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs area.
This is a *hybrid *position that will allow remote support (i.e., work from home) 1 day per week. 
Key Duties: 
- Design and maintain digital system models using SysML and other modeling languages to represent complex systems.
- Decompose cybersecurity system requirements into functional and logical architectures, and allocate those to physical implementations.
- Ensure system models are accurate, compliant with standards, and support engineering tasks such as analysis and decision-making.
- Capture and maintain traceability of system requirements within the architecture model, linking to relevant design artifacts.
- Develop system architecture views aligned with MBSE methodology to support engineering milestone reviews (e.g., SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR).
- Use state machine modeling and analysis to demonstrate dynamic behavior, validate state transitions, and assess design impacts.
- Integrate MBSE with digital engineering activities such as configuration management and system simulation.
- Translate customer reference architecture models into internal architecture models.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of MBSE training, tools, and processes.
- Mentor systems engineers in MBSE best practices and tool usage.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through effective communication and collaboration.

Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- Active Secret Clearance (or higher).
- 8 or more years of full-time professional work experience.
- 5 or more years of experience with systems engineering processes and tools.
- 5 or more years of experience developing MBSE system models using Cameo/NoMagic, IBM Rhapsody, or SPARX Enterprise Architect.
- Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
- Experience applying model-based approaches on engineering projects and integrating models into architecture and digital engineering platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including iteration planning and status reporting.
- Current DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE), or the ability to obtain within 3 months of start date.
- Advanced or formal education in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education: 
- Possession of an Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional -- Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP-MBF) certification.
- Possession of an INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
- Ability to provide technical and programmatic recommendations on the development, integration, and application of digital engineering and MBSE concepts.
- Experience leading technical teams or engineering projects.
