Cimarron is seeking a *Mechanical Design Engineer* to support the Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) satellite system program in Highlands Ranch, CO. GeoXO is NOAA's next-generation Geostationary Extended Observations satellite system, designed to revolutionize how we monitor Earth's atmosphere and oceans. GeoXO will deliver critical data to improve forecasts and increase preparedness for severe weather, air quality events, and harmful algal blooms. By enhancing public safety and delivering significant economic benefits, GeoXO represents a transformative step in safeguarding lives, property, and our nation's resilience.
Key Duties:
- Provide mechanical design engineering support for GeoXO structures and antennas tooling design.
- Design mechanical systems using PTC Creo software, including:
- Bond fixtures
- Support structures
- Layup molds
- Transportation equipment
- Environmental test equipment
- Alignment tools
- Develop engineering drawings to applicable ASME Y14 and LM Space standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met.
- Develop requirements and release a Quick Spec document for each assigned Tooling End Item.
- Release final design CAD models for each assigned Tooling End Item.
- Develop, present, and archive Requirements Table Top and Concept Table Top presentations for each assigned Tooling End Item.
- Release an FFMEA report (if applicable) for each assigned Tooling End Item.
- Release the final engineering drawing for each assigned Tooling End Item.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education: 
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. Citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. 
- This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant, please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your driver's license or state ID.
- 2 or more years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
- 2 or more years of experience in CAD.
- Proficiency in PTC Creo software.
- Familiarity with ASME Y14 and LM Space standards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education: 
- Experience with GeoXO structures and antennas tooling design.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices.
- Familiarity with FFMEA and other reliability engineering tools.
