The Compensation Team at Louisiana Blue supports the organization and its leaders by providing strategic guidance on compensation decisions in a consultative manner and establishes parameters for leader decision making.  We partner with leaders, Human Resource Business Partners, and all areas of HR to ensure we attract and retain top talent while maintaining equity, compliance, and affordability of our compensation programs. We are seeking solution orientated intern candidates who are eager to participate in fulfilling our vision while also expanding their knowledge of the role that a Compensation Analyst has within organizations.

Job Description:

  • Must be interested in learning the methods and reasoning behind employee compensation analysis

  • Enjoys working in a team orientated environment where creative thinking and collaboration is encouraged

  • Values assisting others with solving problems

  • Is conscientious and can focus on the details in a task

  • Must be willing to learn and apply the knowledge of various HR related laws and regulations

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and decision-making skills

  • Must have solid software skills, including MS Word, Outlook PowerPoint, and advanced Excel   

  • Has the ability to deliver and facilitate presentations to different audiences

  • Can efficiently and effectively address multiple priorities

  • Must be able to comprehend, document, calculate, visualize and analyze data

  • Must have the ability to commute to our office in Baton Rouge, LA at least 2 days per week, preferably 3

  • Will have a consultative and analytical approach

How You Will Contribute to the Company’s Mission:

  • Market price jobs in the salary survey system

  • Assist with composing and updating job descriptions

  • Partner with Compensation Analysts to develop job offers

  • Assist with performing salary equity reviews in adherence with company policy and practice

  • Assist Compensation Team with special projects

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of job responsibilities

  • Adhere to all HIPAA and compliance privacy regulations in addition to federal and state pay regulations

  • Work is predominately done while standing or sitting

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree program(s) / Current Status:  Undergraduate, recent graduate or graduate level student in Business, Statistics, MBA or related field.  Must have completed a minimum of 60 hours in an undergraduate program to be considered. Concentration in Human Resource Management is preferred.

  • Cumulative GPA:  3.0+ GPA preferred; minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.
