PHEAA’s Loan Asset Management department is seeking Default Prevention Representatives! This entry level clerical wage role requires the completion of moderately complex work associated with borrower contact in the prevention of Title IV student loan delinquencies. In this role, you will perform skip tracing activities, make outbound phone attempts and respond to incoming calls, and counsel students from partnered colleges and universities to promote positive account management practices with external loan services. You may also complete tasks related to completing telephone payments for defaulted accounts and completing data entry tasks within our State Grant and Special Programs department.
Salary: $16.00/hour Pay Increase: Pay will increase to $16.50 after 6 months of continuous employment
Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM - Hybrid 2 days a week onsite

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to learn and understand internal and external information systems including: OneLINK, COMPASS, SLMA, ACS, and Nelnet.
Ability to learn and apply appropriate Federal regulations and departmental procedures to provide the most effective customer service.
Ability to effectively utilize various Internet sites for the purposes of skitracing.
Ability to complete minor mathematical calculations to calculate the proper days of delinquency and required monthly payments.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
Ability to work effectively in a team and results-oriented environment.
Knowledge of a personal computer (PC).
Ability to learn Agency programs and operations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and throughout the Agency.
Required Skills:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
· Strong attention to detail
