    Tampa General Hospitals Cardiovascular Center has six cardiac catheterization laboratories, including two EP labs and seven interventional radiology suites, in over 77,000 square feet of dedicated space. The center also features two neuro Interventional suites. The hospital has eight operating rooms outfitted for cardiac surgery, and its Heart Valve Center includes a hybrid operating room and a 160-slice CT scanner. Designed with patient comfort in mind, the 47 pre- and post-procedure rooms have private bathrooms and are equipped with internet televisions and telephones.

    Job Summary

    Under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, the CV Invasive Specialist - EP Lab delivers care to patients pre-, during, and post-procedure. Assists physicians performing procedures, including catheterizations, interventions, and implants. Implements patient care, documents patient assessments, and identifies situations requiring intervention. Communicates goals and plans of care, assures patient rights, and performs job duties in accordance with the values of Tampa General Hospital and the principles of FOCUS-PDCA.

    Working Conditions

    Work is primarily performed in patient care settings, requiring extensive interaction with patients, staff, physicians, family members, and visitors. Lifting, bending, stooping, standing for long periods, and exposure to bodily fluids are involved. Wearing a lead apron is required, and pushing and pulling of patients and stretchers is involved. Lifting of supplies is also required.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Education: Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology and/or healthcare-related associate degree or equivalent.
    • Experience: Cardiac Cath Lab experience and/or on-the-job training.
    • Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications.
    • Experience: Hospital Cardiac Cath lab setting experience, including CVT school clinicals.
