Cutter Manual - Sewing

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for separating flags from rolls of material using electronic cutting knife or scissors.
• Must be able to maintain detailed written records of all jobs and fabric usage.
• Basic understanding of math, geometry and accurate measuring.
• Ability to assist sewing department when needed.
• Ensure cuts are straight and made per order specifications.
• Responsible to maintain cutting equipment in good, working order.
• Maintain clean and organized work area.
• Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
• Must be able to accurately follow verbal and written instructions regarding making cuts to rolls of material.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time throughout the day.
• Must be able to stretch across table to cut long lines of material using scissors.
• Must be able to lift approximately 25 pounds, 50 pounds with assistance.
• Able to push, pull and twist large rolls of fabric from pallet to cutting station.
• Must be able to detect defects to items being cut and check measurements.
• Must have good hand, foot and eye coordination.
