Cut and Sew Knits Designer - Apparel (Onsite - New York, NY)

We are seeking a Cut and Sew Knits Designer for our global retail client. The designer is responsible for creating original concepts that encompass style, color, and fabric as a result of interpreting fashion trends. Produces sketches and may make seasonal presentations of proposed designs. Analyzes fashion trends, partners with sourcing and materials development.

This is a 40-hour per week, 6-month contract (possible extension), onsite role in New York, NY.

This is a W2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and a 401K are offered.

Responsibilities:
Create original concepts that encompass style, color, and fabric by interpreting fashion trends.
Produce sketches and seasonal presentations of proposed designs.
Analyze fashion trends.
Partner with sourcing and materials development.
Provide basic fit and body block information.
Attend fit sessions.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience.
6+ years of related apparel design experience.
Experience creating original design concepts that encompass style, color, and fabric.
Ability to interpret fashion trends and translate them into seasonal designs.
Experience producing design sketches and seasonal presentations of proposed designs.
Experience analyzing fashion trends to support product development.
Experience partnering with sourcing and materials development teams.
Ability to provide basic fit and body block information.
Experience attending fit sessions.
Women's wear design experience preferred.
Sweater design experience is a plus.

Compensation: $50/hr. - $52/hr.
