Client Overview:
Our client is a global logistics provider specializing in ocean freight, delivering comprehensive, end-to-end transportation and supply chain solutions that ensure efficient and reliable movement of cargo. They are currently looking to add a Customs Specialist to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$30/hr - $35/hr

Position Overview:
The Customs Specialist plays a key role in supporting compliant and efficient U.S. import operations, including day-to-day activities and general customs support.

Responsibilities of the Customs Specialist:
  • Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely filing of U.S. import entries and submission of all required documentation.
  • The Customs Specialist will support duty management activities by auditing entries for accuracy and customs compliance.
  • Review and analyze shipping reports to confirm data accuracy.
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
Required Experience/Skills for the Customs Specialist:
  • 2+ years of experience in import operations, customs brokerage support, international logistics, or trade compliance.
  • The Customs Specialist needs to have working knowledge of U.S. import requirements, including documentation, customs processes, and recordkeeping.
  • The Customs Specialist needs to demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to manage compliance-driven processes effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to reconcile shipment, invoice, and entry data accurately.
  • Experience supporting or working within Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) operations.
  • Experience with consumer goods commodities.
  • Knowledge of Section 232 aluminum and steel tariffs, along with proficiency in ACE and SAP systems.
  • The Customs Specialist needs to have advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
