Position: Customs Brokerage Manager (English/Mandarin)

Location: Jamaica, NY

Industry: International Freight Forwarder

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 1st shift

Salary: $100,000 - $135,000/year, based on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate

Type: Direct Hire with benefits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a Customs Brokerage team, providing operational guidance and coaching.
  • Ensure compliance with CBP and OGA regulations, including HTS classification and protest filing.
  • Train staff on new regulations, customs procedures, and systems like CargoWise.
  • Analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with Sales on client visits and strategic initiatives.
  • Address service issues and workflow gaps promptly.
  • Manage VIP accounts and assist with customs clearance tasks as needed.
  • Required Experience:
    • At least 5 years in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or import/export operations.
    • Fluent in English and Mandarin.
    • Relevant coursework in International Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics is a plus.
    • Minimum 2 years supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
    • Active U.S. Customs Broker License required.
