Customer Service & Operations Assistant

Location: Onsite in Montebello, CA
Schedule: Monday Friday, 6:30 AM 3:00 PM (occasional Saturdays as business needs require)
Pay: $20.00 per hour plus benefits

Position Summary

We are seeking a Customer Service & Operations Assistant to provide exceptional support to customers and internal teams while ensuring accurate and timely data management. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and is interested in building a career within the transportation and logistics industry.

Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative and customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong data entry and 10-key skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while handling high call and email volumes.

Preferred:

  • Experience in transportation, freight, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation and transportation management systems.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to customer emails in a professional and timely manner.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Provide shipment and freight status updates to customers.
  • Prepare and distribute customer reports and operational updates.
  • Verify destination, routing, and billing information for accuracy.
  • Process and maintain shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOL) and Delivery Orders (DO).
  • Support customer requests for information and documentation.
  • Research and assist in resolving customer disputes and service issues.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and operational data within company systems.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to meet customer expectations.
  • Assist with inventory control, spreadsheet management, reporting, and administrative functions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and service standards.
