Job Description

The Customer Service Representative performs various clerical functions to help ensure the accurate recording and updating of fair market value, property locations, and permit transactions.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs data entry to record and retrieve real estate information and to prepare various reports and correspondence.
  • Verifies property ownership and all other pertinent data to ensure accurate recording.
  • Records and reports real property records from deed transfers, splits, wills, court orders, etc.
  • Updates and maintains filing systems with accuracy.
  • Completes, processes, and/or issues mobile home licenses, building permits, flood zone permits, driveway tile applications, special assessment applications, appeals applications, etc.
  • Communicates with County Planning and Building Department to ensure that all mobile home registrations are in compliance with set regulations.
  • Coordinates with the Delinquent Tax Office to locate and list any mobile home that may have avoided taxation and send out appropriate correspondence.
  • Collects, receives and records related fees.
  • Assists the public, attorneys, title researchers, surveyors, other county departments and government agencies with questions concerning county property records.
  • Receives and effectively responds to complaints from property owners.
  • Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals including Lake City Satellite office workers, attorneys, paralegals, realtors, property owners, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties as necessary, including typing reports and correspondence, filing, copying documents, scanning documents, answering the telephone, etc.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Backup to Mobile Home Technician.
  • Backup to deed processing.
  • Assists with compiling payroll documents.
  • Assists with bill adjustments when needed.
  • Inputs building permit information for tracking.
  • Performs all other related duties as required.
