Customer Service Representative – Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $17.82/hour
• Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch) or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (30-minute lunch); Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (30-minute lunch); 1 Saturday per month 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (30-minute lunch)

ROLE IMPACT
This role supports the delivery of essential Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) nutrition services by ensuring accurate eligibility determination, respectful participant engagement, and compliant program administration. Success is measured by timely processing, precise data entry, and a positive customer experience that connects families to critical nutrition and public health resources.
• Conduct applicant interviews to determine income and residency eligibility; verify identification, immunization records, and required documentation.
• Issue WIC benefits through Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT); perform data entry in Texas WIN and XP systems; maintain inventory and prepare required reports.
• Collect medical history information; obtain height and weight measurements; perform finger-stick blood collection for hemoglobin screening; identify and manage recalled or medically necessary formula items.
• Greet and check in participants; provide accurate program guidance; schedule appointments; coordinate referrals to healthcare and community resources.
• Provide clerical support including phone coverage, file maintenance, document processing, and record purging in accordance with program guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience in healthcare, education, community services, or social services.
• Ability to use computers and perform accurate data entry while delivering professional customer service.

Preferred Skills
• Spanish/English bilingual ability.
• Experience supporting Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) or similar public assistance programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with diverse populations.
