Job Description

Primary Duties

Facilities & Operational Coordination

  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance, operational, safety, or custodial concerns.
  • Collaborate with facilities management, custodial teams, contractors, and campus partners to support building functionality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure facilities are prepared and maintained to support residential, conference, and guest operations.
  • Assist with coordination of summer facility projects, maintenance schedules, and operational upgrades.
  • Monitor recurring operational concerns and assist with escalation or follow-up as needed.
  • Coordinate and monitor work orders to ensure timely completion and appropriate follow-up communication.
  • Support efforts to maintain a safe, respectful, and code-compliant living and working environment.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to address ongoing behavioral or operational concerns.



Staff Supervision & Training

  • Assist with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, evaluation, and termination processes for:
    • Resident Assistants
    • Desk Assistants
    • Office Assistants
    • Student Work Crew
    • Summer student staff
  • Supervise desk assistants, office assistants, and student work crews to ensure consistent operational coverage and accountability.
  • Develop and facilitate training initiatives related to:
    • Customer service
    • Operational procedures
    • Facility care
    • Workplace expectations
    • Safety practices
  • Oversee daily front desk and office operations to ensure professional, timely, and accurate customer service.

Conference Housing & Guest Operations

  • Coordinate all aspects of year-round conference housing operations, including:
    • Summer camps
    • Short-stay housing
    • Intern and guest housing
    • Year-long conference contracts
  • Manage conference housing scheduling, custodial coordination, and facility readiness
  • Develop and maintain customer service processes that improve efficiency and enhance guest experience.
  • Oversee housing transitions between academic year, summer operations, and conference periods
  • Coordinate vendor scheduling, contractor access, and operational logistics associated with summer housing projects and building turnover
  • Recruit, train, and supervise summer conference interns and student conference workers.
  • Facilitate the campus linens program, including:
    • Inventory management
    • Purchasing and replacement
    • Distribution and retrieval
    • Cleaning coordination
       

Ancillary Duties

  • Support departmental recruiting events, staffing initiatives, and large-scale programming efforts.
  • Respond to student, parent, and guest inquiries in person, via telephone, and through email communication.
  • Provide information, resources, and problem resolution related to housing and campus operations.
  • Maintain operational records, reports, and customer service documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Experience coordinating operational processes and collaborating across departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and administrative software systems.
  • Progressive knowledge of facility operations, work order management systems, or customer relationship management platforms.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in higher education, student housing, or campus operations.
  • Experience with StarRez or similar housing management software systems.

Salary

$45,900 to $58,000
