Position Overview
The Customer Service Engineer is responsible for delivering exceptional sales support, technical consultation, and after-sales service to clients, ensuring their specific requirements are accurately captured and communicated to the engineering and production teams. This role focuses on bridging sales, customer relationship management, and hands-on engineering expertise within the sheet metal industry to optimize customer satisfaction, product quality, and operational efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Acquire new customers and integrate requirements into Forma-Fab systems and processes.
  • Provide technical support through phone, email, remote access, and onsite visits.
  • Use Global Shop ERP to manage customer history and process control.
  • Assist with design control and process improvements leveraging Forma-Fab capabilities.
  • Train customers and end-users on Forma-Fab standards and product testing.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Sales teams to resolve recurring issues.
  • Recommend upgrades, modifications, or preventive maintenance to optimize performance.
  • Stay current with product knowledge, tools, and industry best practices.
  • Lead the customer service team and ensure compliance with safety, company, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of sheet metal design and process experience.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s in engineering, Electronics, Mechanical, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-5 years in manufacturing techniques and Lean Manufacturing; strong knowledge of BOM processes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and communication skills; strong customer service.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
Preferred Skills 
  •  Experience with ERP/CRM systems for service tracking
  •  Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, Six Sigma, ITIL)
  • Sheet Metal experience preferred but not required
Work Environment
  • Mix of office, and on-site work; travel and occasional extended hours required
