Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Customer Order Engineer. The position will be based at our facility in Hodges, South Carolina.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

The Customer Order Engineer will provide professional engineering services with minimal direction to interpret customer drawings and specifications for manufacturing or related product; interact with sales force and customers on job specific details such as approvals and detail confirmation. Create engineering documentation for drafting, procurement, and manufacturing; provide coordination for technical guidance to production personnel as appropriate; support product marketing and provide negotiation and application support for field sales.

Job Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Manage orders to meet OTP objectives, reduce cycle times, handle order changes, and assist with product warranty.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay updated on product engineering technologies, competitor capabilities, market conditions, and channels.
  • Engineering Support: Provide engineering functions for product marketing, manufacturing, and sales.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as the technical contact for customers, addressing product application, performance, compliance, and complex issues.
  • Product Analysis: Review and analyze product configurations, perform engineering calculations, and collaborate with drafting, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
  • Company Activities: Engage in product design, market and product improvements, and initiatives for productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Customer Meetings: Participate in customer project review and drawing approval meetings.
  • Pricing and BOM: Calculate, review, track, and assign pricing, and support bill of material comparisons and adder requests.
  • Customer Inspections: Lead customer inspections and witness tests.
  • Order Execution: Oversee customer order execution, from understanding requirements to finalizing engineering work, entering data into the AS400 system, and monitoring orders through to shipping and installation support.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, or mechanical engineering from accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in 3D CAD systems (e.g., AutoCAD Inventor) for electro-mechanical assemblies.
