Customer Care/Eligibility Determination Specialist

Location: Tucson, AZ
Pay Rate: $20/hour

This job is onsite and only local candidates will be considered.

Position Overview

We are seeking detail-oriented Eligibility Determination Specialists to review and adjudicate unemployment and public assistance claims. In this role, you will conduct interviews, analyze information, verify documentation, and make eligibility determinations in accordance with program guidelines and regulations. This position requires strong critical thinking, clear written communication, and the ability to manage follow-ups with applicants.

Comprehensive classroom and on-the-job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review unemployment and public assistance applications for accuracy and completeness

  • Conduct interviews with applicants to gather and clarify eligibility information

  • Verify applicant information through documentation and system checks

  • Apply policies, regulations, and guidelines to make eligibility determinations

  • Adjudicate claims and prepare written determinations and decisions

  • Follow up with applicants as needed to obtain additional information

  • Maintain accurate case documentation and records

  • Meet productivity, quality, and compliance standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to conduct structured interviews and fact-finding conversations

  • Comfortable working with multiple systems and documenting case notes

  • Ability to manage follow-ups and work within deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in eligibility determination, claims adjudication, or public assistance programs

  • Background in customer service, case management, or administrative support

  • Familiarity with unemployment insurance or government assistance programs

Training
