Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with device management concepts, such as Application Programming Interface (API) and marketplace integrations for collaboration suites, migration or change management, or no-code and workflow automation services.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with on-premise and cloud-based productivity and collaboration solutions (e.g., chat, mail, video conferencing).
  • Experience supporting or promoting to state, local agencies and higher education institutions.
  • Experience in device and user management concepts such as MDM, Identity and Access Management (IAM), authentication, SSO, provisioning, security and compliance and third-party tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, especially CJIS, FedRAMP or FISMA.
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally at C-level within prospect companies.

About the job

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with the technical Sales team as a Google Workspace subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud, productivity and collaboration solutions to customers. You will help prospective and existing customers understand the power of Google Cloud, explain technical features and solve problems for potential roadblocks. You will use your expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will have experience in cloud platform and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products, particularly productivity and collaboration tools. You will partner with internal engineering stakeholders to improve products and build solutions, optimizing for results when in production and identifying innovative ways to multiply your impact and the impact of the team as a whole.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $127,000-$184,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead technical projects, technology advocacy, support bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
  • Deliver product messaging for the Google Workspace by using slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents. Identify product blockers for roadmap prioritizations.
  • Recommend administration strategies, deploy plans, change management solutions, and cloud security to implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers.
  • Identify business and technical requirements, conduct technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements, focus on expansion on customer's usage of Google Cloud products and overall GPS success.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed, and act as a public advocate for Google Cloud.
