From your PASSION to ours

The Customer Category Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth within assigned customers by developing and executing category and trade strategies that enhance sales, distribution, and market share. This role partners closely with distributors and cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, optimize trade investments, and deliver impactful in-store execution. The position oversees end-to-end trade promotion management, ensuring strong ROI, while leading customer-specific programs that increase shelf presence, shopper engagement, and incremental revenue.

From your STORY to ours

  • Effectively partner with their assigned distributors to build rapport at all levels and to fully understand the customer, their business, and the marketplace.
  • Responsible for achieving base business objectives of assigned customers (revenue, share growth, margin contribution, authorizations, distribution, optimal shelving)
  • Develop customer programs in collaboration with Category Leadership and distributors to drive incremental sales, increase distribution, and expand share of shelf with retailers.
  • Develop and execute trade promotion strategies aligned with sales and marketing objectives.
  • Manage the end-to-end trade promotion process, including planning, budgeting, execution, and post-promotion evaluation.
  • Analyze promotion effectiveness, ROI, and key performance metrics to optimize future activities.
  • Achieve new item authorization and distribution goals with their assigned customer
  • Achieve promotional revenue objectives by tactic, price point, drive period & selling vent for their assigned categories and customer
  • Develop and execute in-store marketing programs, point-of-sale materials and merchandising initiatives that enhance shopper experience and conversion.
  • Coordinate all in-store execution efforts and recommend adjustments to ensure activation plans are delivered on time, on budget, in full, and in the most effective way. Perform regular trade visits to identify opportunities and provide solutions to drive the incremental sales.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

  • 3+ years in account management, distributor management, and/or retail sales management for a CPG company experience is required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the Customer and gain their trust and respect
  • Strong personal selling skills and negotiation skills
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, ability to operate independently
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and create action plans
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints
  • Ability to operate in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt in a changing work environment
  • Solid working knowledge of computers and related systems including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
