This Custodian Supervisor A ensures the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of university campus buildings.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Plan and assign custodial duties to subordinates; tour work areas to determine cleaning needs; prepare a list of areas needing attention and determine the size and composition of the work crew; indicate to the crew the tools and equipment necessary, and impart any special instructions; instruct new employees in proper cleaning of floors, walls, and furniture; conduct safety meetings.

  • Frequently inspect assigned areas while work is being performed and upon completion to determine their quality; identify unacceptable work and reinspect to make certain that corrective action is taken.

  • Review requests for materials, tools, equipment, and supplies, and prepare appropriate documents as needed. Request minor repairs to equipment as necessary in a timely manner.

  • Approves leave time; prepares plans and evaluations; maintains records and prepares reports relating to personnel, supplies, equipment, and day-to-day operation.

  • Perform related work duties as it relates to all custodial service work as required.

Appointment Type: Probational

Compensation: The starting salary is $ 14.03/hour.

Work Location: This position is located at the Southern University Campus
