What You Will Do Are you ready to support the cleanliness of the Countys Senior Centers? As a Senior Center Custodian working with the Aging & Disabilities leadership, you will handle essential custodial duties. Reporting to the Senior Center Manager, your role will ensure a clean and friendly environment for visitors. Sanitizing tables, assisting visitors, and collecting trash are the daily responsibilities of this role.

Essential Duties

  • Pick up litter, empty trash cans, and put trash in dumpster.
  • Assure that buildings are clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly.
  • Tasks include cleaning lavatories, furniture, walls, and flooring using industrial powered equipment.
  • Set-up and break down tables and chairs for events at the Senior Centers.
  • Secure building and equipment at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain all cleaning equipment.
  • Assure that walkways are kept clear.
  • Note condition of the building and report issues to supervisor.
  • Assist with light kitchen duties as needed.
  • Interact with Senior Center members.
  • Complete assigned work in a timely fashion.
  • Accept feedback.
  • Demonstrate an ability to collaborate and a willingness to learn.
  • Participate in a supportive work environment.
  • Exhibit integrity, ethics, and fiscal responsibility.

You Might Be a Good Fit If

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education diploma (GED). Two or more years of related experience. A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
  • Required Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid drivers license.
  • National ServSafe certification or must obtain within first year of employment.
  • CPR, AED, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certification or must obtain within the first six months of employment.

  • Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent exposure to potentially adverse environmental conditions including but not limited to chemicals, noise, and airborne particles.
  • Frequent physical activity: standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying, climbing steps, squatting, stooping, and related activities.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE as required.
