LIBRARY CUSTODIAN (Part-Time with Benefits)
HOURS: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 5pm - 9PM, and Saturday (split shift) 7am - 11am and then 3pm - 7pm.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to provide custodial care and cleaning of municipal facilities. This is accomplished by sweeping, mopping and buffing floors; cleaning carpet, dusting and cleaning offices, meeting rooms and other work areas; stripping and waxing floors, polishing furniture; collecting and removing waste, washing walls and windows; sanitizing and stocking supplies in restrooms; and may perform minor maintenance (i.e., unstop sinks, toilets, change light bulbs); and reports the need for major repairs. Other duties include securing buildings, performing maintenance on equipment, sweeping sidewalks and removing snow and ice, removing paper and other litter from around buildings.

Driver's License Required - Y Type - C
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Background check will include a TSA background check. Must be fingerprinted and found not to have any disqualifying criminal offences as itemized by TSA.

Should have knowledge of cleaning materials, methods, equipment and procedures. Ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1 L Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice.
2 H Cleaning of buildings. Sweeps and mops floors, dusts and cleans offices, meeting rooms and other work areas; strips, waxes and polishes floors; polishes furniture; collects and removes waste; washes walls and windows; cleans rest rooms and replenishes supplies; unstops sinks and toilets; reports the need for minor repairs and changes light bulbs; moves furniture and equipment, cleans carpets.
3 L Secures buildings.
4 M Minor Maintenance on facility and equipment.
Formal Education: Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
Experience: No experience required.
