We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
Duties
Perform daily industrial cleaning tasks to ensure classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas are clean, sanitized, and well-maintained.
Carry out floor care responsibilities including sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, and waxing to maintain clean and safe surfaces throughout the campus.
Provide porter services such as setting up and breaking down furniture, equipment, or event materials as needed.
Ensure restrooms are stocked, disinfected, and cleaned on a regular schedule, with immediate response to urgent cleaning needs.
Monitor and replenish cleaning and janitorial supply inventory; notify supervisor when reordering is needed.
Safely operate cleaning equipment and handle chemicals in accordance with OSHA and district safety guidelines.
Support emergency cleaning needs and participate in seasonal deep cleaning or special projects as assigned.
Requirements
Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning is preferred.
Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment operation is a plus.
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices is advantageous but not mandatory.
Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
