**Job Description**
**UW Medical Center - Northwest Environmental Services** **Department** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Custodian Lead.**
**WORK SCHEDULE**
+ 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
+ Day Shift
**POSITION HIGHLIGHTS**
Under direction of a supervisor, the Custodian Lead will lead daily direction of custodians in performance of their work. They will ensure that all cleaning standards are followed and that the hospital environment is clean, sanitary, and orderly. They will also perform custodian duties and linen transport as needed.
**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Provides direction to custodians I and II.
+ Assigns and allocates work to employees; coordinates and monitors work assignments. Sets and adjusts priorities.
+ Assists with establishing work schedules.
+ Ensures that all new employees are trained effectively by a competent trainer.
+ Gives feedback to management relative to employee performance.
+ Assists management with interviewing applicants.
+ Provides coverage for supervisors and manager in their absence, assuring department is operating efficiently.
+ Completes written records and documentation. Assists supervisor with record keeping, such as cleaning project tracking.
+ Solves routine operating problems.
+ Checks/evaluates the custodians work for quality and efficiency.
+ Sufficient written and verbal English-language skills to interact with customers, visitors, patients, coworkers, and management.
+ To be able to Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders and Perform fine motor functions.
**REQUIREMENTS**
+ One year experience in custodial work in an institutional setting.
+ Lead or supervisory experience is preferred.
