Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team at the Lower Granite Lock and Dam. The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of various facilities and ensuring that all tasks are completed according to safety and environmental standards. The position requires an individual with a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to upholding safety protocols.

The ideal candidate is reliable, comfortable working independently, and takes pride in maintaining clean and safe facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General Cleaning: Perform a range of janitorial tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
  • Safety Protocols: Follow safety procedures, including the proper handling of cleaning chemicals and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Environmental Protection Compliance: Follow all safety and environmental guidelines and report any issues to your supervisor.
  • Hazardous Waste Handling: Coordinate with the team as needed for proper hazardous waste disposal.
Typical Schedule: Work is scheduled within the following coverage hours:

Monday – Thursday: 3:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Friday – Saturday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Employees are typically scheduled for one day off each week, and schedules may rotate within these time blocks.

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in janitorial services is preferred but not required.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to following safety and environmental regulations.
  • Due to the remote location of the facility, reliable personal transportation is required. Location: Lower Granite Lock and Dam (near Pomeroy, WA / Lewiston, ID region)
Work Conditions:

The position requires working on-site at the Lower Granite Lock and Dam, following specified operational hours. The role may require working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to different weather conditions.

Additional Requirements:
  • Background Check: All employees must undergo a background check to ensure compliance with security and safety standards.
  • Training: Completion of the following training is required:
    • AT Level I Awareness Training
    • Suspicious Activity Reporting (iWatch, CorpsWatch) Training
    • Hazardous Energy Control Program (HECP) Training
