Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. is currently searching for a full-time Custodian in Chicago, IL. Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. is a diverse non-profit organization that specializes in the development and management of affordable housing and senior resident living communities.

• Pay: $16.00-$19.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Our Custodian will have:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred
• Reliable and dependable with good time management
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures
• Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and equipment
• Comfortable working in various environments and conditions
• Physically able to lift bend, stand, and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

Our Custodian will:

• Clean and maintain building areas, including floors, restrooms, and common spaces
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling
• Restock supplies and maintain cleanliness of restrooms
• Report maintenance issues and ensure equipment is used safely
• Support overall upkeep and appearance of the property

Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. is a non-profit housing, development, and management corporation formed in 1966 by the members of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Eta Tau Lambda chapter. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity is the oldest predominately black collegiate Greek-Lettered fraternity. The Eta Tau Lambda is an alumni chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, located in Akron, Oh, and was formed in 1960 specifically to support their local communities.
