BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform routine day or evening custodial activities at an assigned school site; maintain buildings and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly and secure condition; perform deep cleaning of floors as part of an assigned roving work crew as assigned. NOTE: If you are a current Substitute Custodian with Newport-Mesa Unified School District and wish to become eligible for a permanent Custodian position within the District, please submit an application for this recruitment and participate in the examination process.

THE VACANCY:
This recruitment is open and promotional, meaning all are welcome to apply and current employees in permanent positions are eligible to receive seniority credit and promotional placement once passing all exams.    

This recruitment will be used to fill Full-Time and Part-Time Custodian openings throughout the district that may occur during the life of the eligible list. 

Full-Time position schedules vary and include day shifts (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), midday shifts (10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.), or evening shifts (2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.). Some Full-Time positions are also assigned to a roving weekend schedule (Tuesday-Saturday or Wednesday-Sunday). 

Part-Time position schedules can vary and may include midday shifts (10:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to:  sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.
 
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California driver's license.
