Custodian Technician

with Floor Care Responsibilities

Are you a dependable, detail-oriented professional who takes pride in a clean, safe environment? We're looking for a Custodian Technician to join our team and help maintain a welcoming, hygienic facility for staff, patients, and visitors. This role offers variety, stability, and the opportunity to develop valuable floor care skills.

What You'll Do

Primary Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, lounges, waiting rooms, lobbies, offices, conference rooms, and corridors to the highest hygiene standards.
  • Pay close attention to high-touch surfaces to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a safe environment.
  • Clean windows and glass surfaces to maintain a streak-free, clear appearance.
  • Empty and dispose of trash in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies; report shortages to your supervisor.
  • Report maintenance issues or equipment repair needs to the appropriate department promptly.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with all employees, visitors, and vendors.
  • Uphold company policies related to cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.

Secondary Responsibilities - Floor Care

  • Clean, polish, and refinish tile, carpet, hardwood, and linoleum floors using specialized techniques.
  • Operate and maintain floor care equipment including scrubbers, buffers, extractors, and steam cleaners.
  • Apply floor care chemicals safely in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Inspect floor surfaces and report damage or wear to the supervisor.
  • Maintain records of floor care activities and supply inventory as required.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of janitorial or custodial experience preferred; prior floor care equipment experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and disinfection techniques, infection control practices, and hospital hygiene standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs; comfortable with frequent bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills; must read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to a strong work ethic.

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Comprehensive background check with a clean criminal record.
  • Fingerprinting as part of the hiring process.
  • Current influenza vaccination (documentation required).
