Custodial Technician - Adoptions

Helen Woodward Animal Center | Rancho Santa Fe, CA Pay: $21.75/hour | Schedule: Full-Time (40 hrs/week, occasional weekends, nights & holidays)

As a Custodial Technician, you'll support the daily operations and upkeep of our Adoptions building-ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming space for pets, staff, and adopters alike.

What You'll Do:

• Clean and maintain restrooms, offices, common areas, floors, windows and dispose of trash and recyclable items
• Perform light facility maintenance: repairs, painting, restrooms, floor care, windows, walls, etc.
• Operate and maintain power tools, ladders, cleaning products and paint supplies, safely and efficiently
• Observe and report plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, appliance and general facility maintenance issues
• Support Center events and program needs with setup/teardown, on-site logistics and running errands
• Occasional driving duties (must have valid license, clean driving record and proof of insurance)

What We're Looking For:

• Previous custodial experience a plus
• Experience in ladder safety, partner lifting, safe handling and accident prevention
• Understanding and application of CDC guidelines to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for employees, visitors, and animals through consistent cleaning and maintenance practices
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and teammates
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors (~25% of the time)
• Comfortable working around all types of animals
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and insurance
