This position is scheduled to work Monday-Friday during evening hours, typically 2:00 PM-10:30 PM. Based on departmental and operational needs, the schedule may vary and could include shifts from 4:00 PM-12:30 AM.
This position may be eligible for nighttime differential in accordance with Valencia College Pay policies

Essential Job Functions
Description of Job Function
Establishes areas of responsibility and tasks for all night shift personnel.
Ensures personnel and equipment necessary to accomplish assigned tasks are available.
Supervises night work crews and actively checks standards of performance in all areas of all modules and initiates corrective action wherever indicated.
Assists in training of personnel to ensure manner of performance is maintained at a high professional level.
Schedules personnel to assist in other related tasks associated with custodial maintenance.
Maintains control of expendable supplies and maintenance of equipment.
Maintains time attendance sheets for personnel.
Carries out security and safety procedures as established by supervisor including those procedures related to the Florida "Right To Know" Law.
Performs all duties as described in the custodian job description which may include moderate lifting and working with chemicals, solvents, oils, and moving objects.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Drivers License Requirement
Drivers License Requirement REQUIRED: Must possess valid Florida Driver's License. Employee will be required to operate a college vehicle, including but not limited to on and between campuses and in the local community, in order to perform the essential job functions.

Progressively responsible custodial experience and supervisory experience.

General Working Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and throughout the College's worksites and grounds. Within the professional office environment, the employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet and occasionally moderate. While operating outside of the office environment, the employee may be exposed to elements including but not limited to wet/humid weather, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors. The role may also involve hazards or physical risks, which require comprehending and following basic safety precautions and may require Personal Protection Equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to remaining stationary, moving, ascending/descending, positioning self, reaching, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-100 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
