Translate district and school documents, newsletters, and other communications to ensure families have access to important information. Family Engagement and Advocacy: Communicate District 6222 policies and procedures clearly to Spanish-speaking families to support their understanding and participation in their child's education. Advocate on behalf of Spanish-speaking students and families to ensure equitable access to school programs and services. Facilitation of Cross-Cultural Understanding: Foster positive relationships among parents, students, and staff that recognize and celebrate cultural differences. Facilitate communication and activities that build bridges between home and school while supporting student success. Cultural Education for Staff: Provide guidance and presentations to school staff to increase their understanding of cultures and the experiences of Spanish-speaking families, fostering a welcoming and inclusive school environment. Inclusive School Practices: Work collaboratively with schools to ensure procedures and practices are inclusive and culturally responsive to the needs of Spanish-speaking families and students.
