About Westminster at Lake Ridge
Westminster at Lake Ridge is a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community serving older adults in three levels of service: Independent Living, Assisted Living, and a Health Center. Our team of roughly 270 total employees serves a population of over 400 total residents on 62 acres that back up to the Occoquan reservoir. Job Requirements:
High School diploma or associate degree in a Human Service field required, one (1) to three (3) years of human service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Incumbent should be able to apply practical knowledge and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form, possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability, strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Independent Living Administrator with the planning and executing recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for the residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Activity Responsibilities
Plans and/or leads programs for the Life Enrichment Department.
- Develops, plans, and promotes programs for residents including arts, outings, speakers, shows, etc.
- Schedules and assists in setting up and/or clean-up areas for programs.
- Leads of activity for residents as requested by the Independent Living Administrator.
- Attends committee meetings.
Administrative Responsibilities
Tracks program results including resident participation, ideas, and feedback.
- Keep records of all programs.
- Aids in yearly budget planning.
- Creates program ideas and obtains approval from the Independent Living Administrator.
- Schedules outside trips and coordinates travel accommodations with the Transportation Coordinator.
- Submits monthly special event forms to Dining Services.
- Submits monthly room set-up sheets to the Housekeeping Department.
Supervisory Responsibility
Acts as a leader and manager of assigned positions; ensuring productivity, efficiency and accuracy in work performed.
- Ensures initial and ongoing training is provided to volunteers as needed; ensures cross-training is completed as appropriate.
- Identifies unacceptable performance and behavior exhibited by volunteers and takes appropriate action; utilizes progressive discipline policy when appropriate and maintains documentation as required.
- Assures that volunteers follow established policies and procedures.
- Screens and interviews volunteers on an as needed basis.

Maintains professional presence when representing Ingleside; exhibits degrees of professionalism consistent with standards in performance, behavior, and appearance.
- Always maintain resident confidentiality according to policies and procedures; use discretion when discussing confidential matters.
