Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and organized Cook to prepare nutritious, home-style meals for residents in our assisted living facility. This role plays a key part in resident satisfaction, health, and overall experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and dietary guidelines
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen at all times
- Monitor food inventory and report shortages
- Accommodate special diets (mechanical soft, pureed, diabetic, etc.)
- Ensure meals are served on time and at proper temperatures
- Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup as needed
- Communicate with staff regarding resident dietary needs
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience preferred (healthcare or large-scale cooking a plus)
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices
- Ability to follow menus and portion control
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred
- Experience in assisted living, CBRF, or nursing home setting
- Food Safety Certification (ServSafe or CDM)
