Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and organized Cook to prepare nutritious, home-style meals for residents in our assisted living facility. This role plays a key part in resident satisfaction, health, and overall experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and dietary guidelines
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen at all times
  • Monitor food inventory and report shortages
  • Accommodate special diets (mechanical soft, pureed, diabetic, etc.)
  • Ensure meals are served on time and at proper temperatures
  • Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup as needed
  • Communicate with staff regarding resident dietary needs

Qualifications

  • Previous cooking experience preferred (healthcare or large-scale cooking a plus)
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • Ability to follow menus and portion control
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred 

  • Experience in assisted living, CBRF, or nursing home setting
  • Food Safety Certification (ServSafe or CDM)
