Duties
- Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify potential health issues and provide recommendations for treatment.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date medical records, including vital signs and any treatments or medications administered.
- Develop and implement health education programs to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent illness.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to identify and address health concerns that may impact student learning.
- Maintain a safe and healthy school environment, including ensuring compliance with state and federal health and safety regulations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local healthcare providers and emergency services to ensure prompt and appropriate care in the event of a medical emergency.
Qualifications
- Current Bachelor of Nursing (BSN)
- Current Credentialed School Nurse License from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- Audiometry Certification
- Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and other school staff.
- Experience working in an inpatient or urgent care setting.
- Ability to assess patients and administer medications as needed.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
- Experience working in a school setting or with children.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
