Critical Operations Engineer II Role:

As a member of the Data Center Operations team, the Critical Operations Engineer II (COE II)is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical data center electrical,mechanical, cooling, and fire/life safety systems to ensure the highest levels of reliability anduptime. The COE II applies advanced knowledge of critical facility systems, includingunderstanding system interdependencies and the operational impact changes to one systemmay have on others. COE II supports customer infrastructure projects and collaborates withtechnicians, vendors, and customers to drive operational excellence, resolve issues efficiently,and continuously improve processes and performance.

In addition, the COE II provides technical guidance, mentorship, and on-the-job training to teammembers while promoting adherence to established operational procedures, safety standards,and best practices. The position also performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

We are currently hiring for the Day Shift 6:00am - 2:30pm

Relocation assistance and sign-on bonuses available for qualifying candidates.

What You'll Do:

Critical Facilities Operations-

Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot mission-critical electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems to ensure uptime and reliability

Perform facility inspections, respond to abnormal conditions, and document findings

Track, trend, and analyze system performance; utilize CMMS to manage work orders and maintenance

Electrical Systems-

Support electrical distribution from utility and generator switchgear through UPS andcustomer load

Maintain and coordinate work on generators, switchgear, UPS, STS, ATS, PDUs,transformers, and power circuits.

Mechanical Systems-

Operate and maintain chilled water, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, humidification, and centralplant systems

Support cooling optimization,

Fire Life Safety & Infrastructure-

Monitor wet sprinkler and double-interlock pre-action systems and associateddetection devices

Support customer infrastructure projects including cage builds, rack and stack,overhead installs, power, and cabling

Collaboration & Customer Support-

Partner with senior technicians, contractors, and vendors on maintenance, upgrades,and expansions

Provide advanced remote hands, manage trouble tickets, incidents, and customerrequests

Lead administrative activities across CMMS, ticketing, monitoring, and otheroperational platforms; maintain accurate documentation, provide timely updates, andcoordinate with internal teams, vendors, and customers

Provide technical guidance and operational leadership to less experienced teammembers during routine operations, maintenance activities, and incident response

Contribute to procedures, documentation, and continuous improvement whilepromoting Operational Excellence

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply technicalknowledge effectively

Self-motivated, dependable, and accountable with a strong work ethic

Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across operations, engineering,and customer teams

Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Strong understanding of data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure

Advanced understanding of the interaction between electrical, mechanical, UPS,generator, and BAS/BMS systems and the ability to assess operational impacts acrossinterconnected systems

Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, OSHA, and fire life safetyrequirements

Comfortable

Preferred Experience:

Electrical distribution systems including generators, switchgear, UPS, STS, ATS,PDUs, and transformers

Mechanical systems including chilled water, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, humidification,pumps, VFDs, cooling towers, and heat exchangers

Fire protection systems including wet sprinkler and double-interlock pre-actionsystems

BMS, PLC controls, and integrated monitoring systems

Fiber and copper cabling installation, termination, and testing

Proficiency with fiber optics, structured cabling, and telecommunications infrastructure.

Working knowledge of basic

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or greater

2-5 years of experience in the data center industry

Proven hands-on experience with large commercial or industrial electrical andmechanical systems

Strong fit for candidates with experience in the military with HVAC or Electrical training

The position alsodemands flexibility to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with changing priorities,including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call hours as needed.

Compensation:

Compensation for this role includes a base salary between $40.00/hr and $43.50/hr. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus and equity, based upon individual and company performance.
