Performs intermediate skilled trades work creating and maintaining a safe work zone, responding to sewer issues, maintaining sewer mains and manholes, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Utilities Supervisor. Limited supervision is exercised over assigned staff.

Thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and department policies, practices, and procedures; thorough knowledge of related industry, organization, and departmental legal guides, recommendations, best practices, ordinances, and laws; thorough knowledge of industry standard and department specific equipment; general knowledge of standard office and department specific software; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to lead a crew of workers; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED and moderate experience in construction or maintenance and writing reports and using computer systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience operating sewer jets, vac trucks and camera systems is preferred.

Possession of a valid North Carolina Class A Commercial drivers license required.
