Join our Commercial team as a Credit Analyst, where you'll assist the Bank's Commercial Lending Officers in the origination and maintenance of their commercial Borrower relationships.  You'll apply your knowledge of financial analysis, credit risk, and commercial lending to evaluate opportunities, structure sound credit solutions, and provide recommendations that support both our customers' success and the Bank's long-term growth in this highly collaborative role.

Key Pieces of the Position:    

  • Prepares credit approval and underwriting analysis of new, potential, and existing commercial borrowers with work primarily centered in those credits classified as moderately complex.
  • Completes annual reviews and line of credit renewals for the Bank’s larger and more complex existing borrowers.
  • Makes risk rating and structuring recommendations based on the Bank’s Loan Policy.
  • Performs financial statement spreading and analysis. Analyzes subsequent output for positive/negative trends and overall credit quality.
  • Demonstrates understanding of tax returns and the purpose for utilization of various schedules.
  • Prepares written proposals that summarize the borrowing request, an analysis of the financial condition of the borrower, the adequacy of collateral and the tertiary sources of repayment.
  • Conducts routine credit investigations on companies and industries as credit warrants.
  • Promotes the best interest of the Bank whenever and wherever possible.
  • Assists with the training of new Credit Analyst I positions.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in banking, finance, accounting, statistics, or economics-related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an analyst role supporting the commercial lending function.
  • Familiarity evaluating and analyzing complex tax returns.
  • Experience in commercial credit underwriting / analysis.
  • Completion of a credit training program.
  • Superior skills in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to think critically.
  • Motivated, self-starter with ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works well independently and as a member of the team.
