Job Title: Credentialing Specialist

Location: Oklahoma City, OK – Onsite

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Credentialing Specialist to join our healthcare team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all healthcare providers meet credentialing, licensure, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with provider enrollment, compliance standards, and maintaining accurate records while communicating effectively with internal teams and external providers.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full credentialing and re-credentialing process for healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Verify provider licensure, certifications, education, work history, and professional references.

Maintain and update provider records in credentialing systems and databases (e.g., CAQH, Modio, Verity, or other software).

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations, including HIPAA, NCQA, and Joint Commission standards.

Coordinate with internal departments and external organizations to obtain and track necessary documentation.

Monitor provider status and license expirations to ensure timely renewals.

Prepare and submit credentialing applications for insurance panels, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers.

Assist with audits and reporting related to provider credentialing and compliance.

Communicate clearly and professionally with providers regarding credentialing requirements and updates.

Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline credentialing workflows and enhance data accuracy.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience in provider credentialing, healthcare administration, or related field.

Knowledge of credentialing standards, licensing requirements, and regulatory compliance (NCQA, Joint Commission).

Proficiency in credentialing software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) designation is a plus.

Experience with CAQH ProView, Modio, Verity, or similar credentialing platforms.

Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, or large healthcare organization.
