In addition to duties and requirements described for the Credentialed Medical Assistant III, additional duties, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience include, but are not limited to:
- Serves as a subject matter expert and resource regarding workflows, policies and procedures, trains new and existing staff and assists in evaluating staff efficiencies and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure assisting the supervisor or manager with department-specific projects and team building.
- Assists in coordinating daily rooming assignments and coverage assistance throughout the day.
- Performs triage duties within the scope of certification.
- Provides initial care, including preparing patients for examinations, taking vitals, and documenting relevant medical information.
- Maintains a comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment.
- Utilizes EMR to process prescriptions, retrieve test results, and patient files.
- Assisting with procedures and performing specialty-related tests/monitoring
- May also perform scheduling duties as needed.
- Assisting with overall delivery of patient care in the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary:
Hiring range, based on experience and credentials: $31.84 - $43.08 per hour.
Workdays: This role is based at the Peterkort Centre. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, four 10-hour shifts with a day off: TBD (6:45 am - 5:15 pm).
Qualifications that support success in this role are based on education, experience and values including:
- Minimum of four (4) years of previous experience as a Medical Assistant is strongly preferred. Specialty Care GI experience is a plus!
- Certification through a national agency such as AAMA, NCCT, etc. is required.
- Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire. ACLS may be required by specialty.
- Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Epic experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
- Excellent attendance and work ethic.
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians and other team members.
- A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.
