Google’s Silicon Sourcing Center of Excellence (SSCE) is the commercial engine powering our next generation of AI and cloud infrastructure. Operating as a unified service bureau, the SSCE bridges the gap between advanced hardware engineering and global supply chain execution. We manage the commercial life-cycle for all silicon operations, from sourcing standard compute and custom AI accelerators (TPUs), to directing foundry/outsourced assembly and test (OSAT) partnerships and executing early-stage strategic investments. Our mission is to secure resilient supply, drive massive cost efficiencies, and guarantee Google's 5-year technology roadmap. As the Strategic Sourcing Manager for x86 CPUs, you will act as the primary commercial owner for standard compute silicon within Google’s Silicon Sourcing Center of Excellence. Operating within the Product Sourcing pillar, you will be responsible for the end-to-end commercial life-cycle of off-the-shelf (OTS) x86 processors that power Google's data center infrastructure. You will manage high-stakes commercial relationships with major merchant silicon vendors (e.g., Intel, AMD), focusing on unit cost optimization, supply assurance, and quality execution. You will align Google’s infrastructure scale with vendor roadmaps to secure the total cost and availability for finished silicon products.
