Position Summary:
Coordinates under the supervision of a pharmacist expert-level support and ensures regulatory readiness across institutional areas.
Administrative tasks include: • Answering phones • Checking in/checking out patients • Referral processing • Scheduling • Billing
Clinical tasks include: • Obtaining vitals • Medication history completion • Point of care testing • Injection preparation/administration • Ensuring appropriate lab testing is ordered
Documenting clinical information within the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Prior authorization completion, Specialty Pharmacy documentation, and patient medication assistance program enrollment
Population health initiatives including: • Report management • Adherence calls • Gap closure
Engages in staff development initiatives
Position Qualification:
High school diploma or equivalent; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Both active pharmacy technician certification and registered pharmacy technician licensure in Tennessee are required.
