Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean of Career and Professional Development and Leadership and limited supervision of the Director of C&PD, the C&PD Employer Specialist provides administrative support to the department. The Employer Specialist assists with the day-to-day operations of the department, including front desk responsibilities, calendar maintenance, drafting office correspondence, event planning, processing invoices, pay requests, and travel reimbursements. Additionally, the Employer Specialist will schedule and manage all on- and off-campus interviews for students and employers, act as support for our 1L Mentor program, and support the Data and Student Engagement Specialist with data entry and job postings in 12Twenty CRM software, as well as managing all student hiring processes.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications

  • Career services or law firm administrative experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent customer relations; high level of organization; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, especially Word and Excel.
  • Experience in CRM packages
  • High attention to detail

Serve the day-to-day administrative needs of the Office of Career and Professional Development including front desk reception, customer service, calendar maintenance, handling all travel and pay requests and reimbursements, office correspondence preparation, event planning.

Assist the Data and Student Engagement specialist with data entry, job postings, and data reports associated with the new 12Twenty CRM package.

Design, develop, and manage logistics of large-scale Career & Professional Development events, including on-and off-campus interview programs. Prepare invitations, conduct follow-up outreach, and communicate with employers regarding program registration and day-of logistics. Communicate with students regarding interview selections and day-of logistics. Set a schedule and manage all stages of the on- and off-campus interview process. Lead Career & Professional Development team in preparing for and ensuring a welcoming and organized recruitment process, including room setup, preparing printed materials, and preparing schedules.

Works with the Assistant Dean of C&PD and Leadership to develop and execute the office's employer relations strategy to increase employer engagement with the office. Ensure proper data collection and management techniques are implemented according to best practices.

Respond to inquiries from students, alumni, faculty, staff, employers, and others, and direct them to appropriate resources. Maintain familiarity with current industry practices, office resources, and programs to respond to inquiries. Triage student questions by providing basic advice and guidance based upon protocols developed by the office and directing students to other members of the team as appropriate. Monitor deadlines and passwords for renewable subscription services.

Under the direction of the 1L Mentoring Program Director, manage the program's communications with attorney mentors and students, manage the marketing of the program, assist with the development of program resources, and assist with the planning of events.
