Job DescriptionThe Staff Accountant will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the firm. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, QuickBooks or NetSuite, and advanced Excel functions.This role is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial best practices.Schedule : Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (EST)Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable & ReceivableOversee all AP and AR functions, ensuring timely and accurate processingReview, verify, and reconcile invoices, expenses, and receiptsManage vendor payments and maintain strong vendor relationshipsMonitor collections and follow up on outstanding receivablesReconcile client trust accounts in accordance with legal and ethical guidelinesGeneral AccountingMaintain and reconcile general ledger accountsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reportsPerform bank and credit card reconciliationsMaintain and improve accounting policies and proceduresQuickBooks / NetSuite ManagementUtilize QuickBooks or NetSuite to manage financial dataGenerate and analyze financial reportsEnsure all transactions are recorded accurately and timelyExcel & Data AnalysisUse advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation, etc.)Develop and maintain financial models and reporting dashboardsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisCompliance & Audit SupportSupport audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policiesAssist with tax preparation in coordination with external accountantsQualificationsQualifications RequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum 5+ years of accounting experience (law firm or professional services preferred)Experience handling high-volume transactions and multiple entitiesStrong proficiency in QuickBooks or NetSuite and Microsoft ExcelSolid understanding of AP/AR processes and financial reportingHigh attention to detail with strong analytical skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferredExperience in a personal injury or legal services firmFamiliarity with client trust accounting / IOLTA rulesExperience with case management or billing systems (e.g., Litify / Salesforce)#J-18808-Ljbffr
