POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Court Security Officer (Full-Time, Non-Exempt)

Location: Champaign County Courthouse

101 E. Main St., Urbana, IL

Department: Champaign County Sheriff's Office

Summary

Ensure order and security within the Courtroom to provide for the efficient and secure operation of a high-volume courtroom.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in the use of firearms, physical control tactics, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment.
  • Pass both a medical physical and psychological exam as a condition of employment.
  • Attend a residential training program of 5-14 weeks (possibly not local). Depending on the school a successful candidate may need to pass the Illinois P.O.W.E.R. test.

Schedule

Monday Friday

Day Shift with some overtime

Compensation

$26.30 per hour
