DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This position is critical to the Municipal Courts Departments Judicial Operations Division and serves as the official recorder and records custodian for trials and appeals under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Courts Department. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity available for you to bring your passion and vibrant resilience to our team of Court Reporters. Duties include,
WORKING CONDITIONS:
General office setting. Occasional periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds. There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
No experience is required.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Court Reporters Certification licensed by the Judicial Branch Certification Commission (JBCC) of the State of Texas.
Must Pass a State and Federal Criminal History Background Check.
Must maintain updated licensing / certifications from the JBCC.
PREFERENCES
PREFERENCES:
Preference shall be given to qualified candidates who are proficient in their field, and candidates who have an associate or bachelor's degree.
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
