Benefits to you
Location Highlights
Gold Beach, Oregon is the county seat in Curry County and located on scenic Highway 101, tucked in between the Pacific Ocean, the Rogue River, and the Siskiyou Mountains. Incorporated in 1853 as Ellensburg, then renamed Gold Beach in 1890 due to the amount of gold found near the mouth of the Rogue River, the city is the perfect blend of solitude and adventure. 34 miles from the Oregon-California border, Gold Beach is full of adventure from the windswept ocean, wild and racing Rogue River, to the temperate rain forest inland. To the south of Gold Beach is Brookings, Curry Counties largest city.
Position Highlights
The Curry County Circuit Court is hiring a Court Operations Associate (Court Clerk).
In this role…
Much of your day is spent providing moderate to complex clerical support to judges, court administration or in a courtroom processing legal documents or records, (both hard copy and electronic documents). You will create case documents and review documents filed with the court for accuracy and completeness. You will determine what actions, if any, are the next steps on certain case types. You enter information into a computer in real-time using a variety of software and equipment. You may process cash and other monetary transactions by crediting people's accounts, generating receipts for payments made, and handling financial information. The courtroom work is fast-paced and involves frequent distraction or interruption, while you use a computer, audio recording software, virtual meeting software, and other courtroom equipment.
You will have frequent interaction with judges, attorneys, parties to cases, and to many people who are facing very challenging life circumstances or stressful situations while providing customer service in person at a public service counter, or over the phone. You will use established policies and procedures to perform your work, while also ensuring statutory requirements - including strict timelines - are met. Most importantly, you will be part of our justice system that provides access to justice services to our community and ensures peoples' cases are heard impartially and in a timely manner.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs. We welcome all candidates who are inspired by our work and mission.
