Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Noel Studio for Academic Creativity at Eastern Kentucky University seeks to hire students from any major as Course-Embedded Consultants (CECs) for Fall 2026. CECs are partnered with individual sections of ENG 101R or ENG 102R and work closely with the instructor of record to support students enrolled in their assigned course in developing and strengthening their critical reading skills in order to become stronger, more effective writers.

In addition to consulting students one-on-one outside of class in the Noel Studio on all phases of the composing process, CECs attend face-to-face meetings of their assigned course and may lead discussions, facilitate mini-lessons, and/or provide additional forms of classroom support based upon instructor and student need. Successful applicants will be assigned to either one section of ENG 101R or ENG 102R based upon course needs and individual applicant's schedules and availability. Course-Embedded Consultants will work in-person on the Richmond, KY campus.
