Position Description
Under the general supervision of the Dean of Student Services, the Counseling and Transfer Center Program Specialist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students. This position provides specialized program support services to assist students, staff, and faculty with Counseling and Transfer Center needs. The Counseling and Transfer Center Program Specialist will assist the Transfer Center Program Coordinator and general counseling faculty through operational support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations in Counseling and in the Transfer Center. This position will track and maintain data for federal, state, and district reports. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, equity-minded, and committed to removing barriers to student success.
Promote sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds within a community college environment.
This position will be in Student Services. This is a 12 month, 40-hour per week position.

Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to one (1) year college coursework, and three (3) years responsible experience in office support, including public contact and record keeping duties.
Knowledge of: Student services programs and practices, including counseling, transfer, and educational planning support; public service reception and intake procedures; customer service techniques for assisting a diverse student population; modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; computer systems, databases, and software applications; recordkeeping and filing methods; applicable laws, regulations, and confidentiality requirements; and effective oral and written communication skills.
