As a member of the BAE Systems, Space & Missions Systems (SMS) Legal Department, located in Broomfield Colorado, the selected individual will provide responsive, superb-quality legal knowledge, as well as utilize his/her business judgment to effectuate meaningful support as the Supply Chain Counsel in support of BAE Systems mission – to provide a vital advantage to help our customers protect what really matters. This role provides the opportunity to serve as Supply Chain Counsel in support of the Space & Mission Systems Sector (“SMS”). The Integrated Supply Chain team has a direct impact on program success, acting as a critical chain that links the end-to-end material flow together. The Supply Chain Counsel will proactively advise and provide legal services to procurement professionals, subcontract managers, and program leadership for a wide range of areas where business legal issues arise - government, international and commercial contracting, and other compliance matters while enabling program execution and risk mitigation across complex defense programs.
The Supply Chain Counsel will be required to utilize his/her business insight as much as their legal knowledge. Counsel will also be responsible for handling legal work relating to all aspects of both U.S. Government contracts and commercial transactions (including international opportunities) and may see their portfolio expanded to cover additional responsibilities.
As a key member of the legal team, the Counsel will provide general support and report directly to the Vice President and Chief Counsel in providing legal advice and representation in a portfolio of matters. This position requires regular, frequent interface with our business colleagues. The right candidate will thrive in an atmosphere which requires daily integration with business and program employees.
What You'll Do:
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:Short Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Required Education, Experience, & SkillsA security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
